He is also engaged in “live cinema” – his cooperation with Petra Tejnorová regarding this genre has been demonstrated on the project NEVINA / INNOCENCE (the former Chirana factory, Praha, 2014) and on the production of Love and Information (New Stage, National Theatre, 2016). He has also worked with director Tejnorová on other productions, such as Bluebeard (Dejvice Theatre, 2010), Midsummer Night’s Dream (HaDivadlo, 2014), or TimINg (New Stage, National Theatre, 2011). Their joint project Life Show, originally written for the Archa Theatre in 2012, has been staged at international festivals in Sweden and the USA. Šilar currently works with the Hrdinů Studio in Prague, where he has made stage and light design for the productions of Skugga Baldur (2016), Actor and Carpenter Majer Speaks about the State of His Homeland (2016) and Macocha (2017). As a stage designer, he works for the Minor Theatre (The Story of Lipany, 2016, Hunt for Jednorožec, 2009), Na Fidlovačce Theatre (The Nerd, 2016), Vosto5 Theatre (The Fellowship of Homeowners, 2017, Brass Band, 2013), or the National Theatre (New Atlantis, 2018). He also cooperates with the Venuše ve Švehlovce Theatre (Lachende Bestien: Pornogeografie, 2015), Drama Club (Black Honey, 2018), or Drak Theatre (White Fang, 2018). As a stage designer, Antonín Šilar has also been engaged in projects in Helsinki, Germany and the United States. He is also a film artist and illustrator: The Book about a Plan (director Petra Tejnorová’s experimental movie from 2011), Menander and Thäis (authors’ independent movie from 2016). He is a member of the Vienna-based art group DieGruppe.

Antonín Šilar graduated from stage design under Professor Petr Matásek at the Alternative Theatre Department, Academy of Performing Arts in Prague, where he currently continues in his PhD studies. He studied light design in Helsinki in 2010.
